P.N ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNLVOOD APPROVING THE
ANNEXATION OF THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE COUNTY
OF LOS ANGELES LYING EASTERLY OF ATLANTIC AVENUE
AND NORTHERLY OF THE PACIFIC ELECTRIC RAILSVAY COM-
PANY'S PRIVATE RIGHT OF SVAY.
V,ifiEREAS, pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited Terri-
tory Act of 1839°, a Petition was filed with the City Clerk and duly
presented to the City Council of the City of Lynwood on September 20,
19.49, reo_ueating the annexation by the City of Lynwood of that certain
uninhabited territory contiguous to the City of Lynwood designated as
"that certain property in the County of Los Angeles lying easterly of
Atlantic Avenue and northerly of the Pacific Electric Railway Company's
Private Right of te'ay, and hereinafter particularly described; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 2236 adopted by the City Council
of the City of Lynu*ood on the 20th day of September, 1949, and pub-
lished in the Lynwood Press, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
duly gave notice of andfixed the 18th day of October, 1949, at 8:00
o~clock p. m, in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, 11331 Plaza
Street, Lynwood, California, as the day, hour, and place when and where
any person owning real property in such territory so published to be
annexed and having any objection to the proposed annexation might appear
before said City Council and show cause why such territory should not
be so annexed; and

WHEREAS, all proceedings have been in conformity with law;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does ordain as follows:
Section 1: That pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939" the annexation of that certain uninhabited terri-
tory contiguous to the City of Lynwood in the County of Loa Angeles,
State of California, designated as "that certain property in the County
of Los Angeles lying easterly of Atlantic Avenue and northerly of the
Pacific Electric Railway Company's Private Right of Way" as hereinafter

more particularly described, hereby is approved.
Said property lying easterly of Atlantic Avenue and northerly
of the Pacific Electric Railway Company~s Private Right of Way is in-
eluded within the boundary line described as follows:
Beginning at the southeast corner of Lot 14 of
Tract No. 818 as shown on map recorded in Book
140, Page µ3 of Maps, Records of Los Angeles
County, California, said point being on the
easterly boundary line of the City of Lynwood as
said boundary line existed September 20, 1949;
thence easterly along the southerly line of said
Tract No. 5818 and its easterly prolongation to
the easterly line of Wright Road; thence southerly
along said easterly line of Wright Road to its
inter section with a line 50 feet northerly of,
measured at right angles to, the northerly line
of the Pacif is Electric Railway Company~a Private
Right of [gay; thence westerly along said last
described parallel line to aforementioned easterly
boundary line of the City of Lyntrood; thence
northerly along said boundary line to the point
of beginning.
Section 2: This ordinance is urgently required for the im-
mediate preservation of public peace, health and safety in the City of
Lynwood and shall be in effect immediately upon adoption. The follow-
ing is a specific statement showing the emergency of this ordinance:
The City of Lynwood is nearly 100 per cent built and the
need for additional territory for expansion is imperative.
Section 3: The City Clerk shall .certify to the adoption of
this ordinance and shall cause same to be published once in the Lynwood
Press.
