AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNFJOOD AMENDING
ORDINANCE N0. 484 WITH RESPECT TO THE SALES".:TAX
AND DECLARIIQG AN EMERGENCY WITH RESPECT THERETO.
The City Council of the City of Lynvrood does ordain ae
follows:
Section 1: Section 2 of Ordinance No. 484 of the City of
Lynwood is amended by substituting the words "October 1, 1949" in lieu
of the vrords " September 14, 1948" now appearing in said Section 2.
Section 2:' Section 3 of said ordinance No. 484 is amended
t6' substituting the words "October 1, 1949" in lieu of the words
"September 14, 1948" now appearing in Section 3 of said ordinance. Said
section is also amended by adding the number "70$7" to follow after the
number "70$6" in said section.
Section 3: Section 5 of said Ordinance No. 484 is amended
by substituting the words "October 1, 1949" in lieu of the words
"September 14, 1948" noxa appearing in Section 5 of said Ordinance No.484.
Section 4: This ordinance is urgently required for the im-
mediate preservation of public peace, health and safety in the City of
Lynwood and shall be in effect immediately upon adoption. The following
is a specific statement showing the emergency of this ordinance:
The "Sales and Use Tax Law" of the State of California has
been amended and such amendments will become effective October 1, 1949•
Ordinance No. 484 of the City of Lynwood adopts by reference the pro-
viaiona of the State "Sales and Use Tax Law". It is necessary to bring
said ordinance into conformity with the State laws a.t the earliest
possible date.
Section 5: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this ordinance and ei1a11 cause same to be published once in the Lynwood
Press.
First read at a regular, meeting of the City Council of said
City held on the 20th day of September, 19 49 , and finally adopted
and ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council held on the

4th day of October ,.19 ~9 , by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN Bruner Stroh,Willard,Williams.
NOE5: COUNCILMEN None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN Jensen.
