AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REMOVING HELMET
REQUIREMENT LANGUAGE IN REGARDS TO MOTORCYCLES AND MOTOR
BIKES.
NOW BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 19 (MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC) Section 19
(MOTORCYCLES AND MOTOR BIKES GENERALLY) is amended as follows:
Sec. 19-308 — Motorcycles and Motor Bikes Generally
A9. No person shall rent, lease or lend a motorcycle, motor scooter or motor bike to another without first
ascertaining that such person is equipped with a safety helmet of a type " ,ed b. ' the Chief Of D..17. a and
is the holder of a currently effective license from the State or another state authorizing the operation of such
a vehicle.
BE. No operator or passenger on a motorcycle, motor scooter or motor bike shall ride "sidesaddle" upon such
vehicle, and every operator and passenger on such a vehicle shall sit upon the vehicle in such manner as to
have a leg on each side of the frame of the vehicle at all times while the vehicle is in motion.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date
of its passage and approval.
