HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 87-2709RESOLUTION N0. 87 -2709 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DECLARING CERTAIN PREMISES TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND ORDERING ABATEMENT THEREOF. FOR THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Temple City has by Resolution No. PC 87 -1317 determined that a public nuisance as defined in the Municipal Code exists on certain premises and recommends abatement thereof; and WHEREAS, no appeal has been taken from said determination with respect to time in which to abate the nuisance; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE: SECTION 1. That a public nuisance, as defined in the Municipal Code of the City of Temple City, exists on the premises designated as 9002 Emperor Avenue, City of Temple City, Califor- nia, and more particularly described as a portion of Lot 66, Sunnyslope Vineyard Subdivision No. 1, Map Book 10, Page 112 of Maps, in the Office of the County Recorder, County of Los Angeles, State of California, in the following particulars: 4230(h) - Overgrown vegetation likely to harbor rats, vermin and other nuisances or causing detri- ment to neighboring properties or property values. 4230(0) - Garbage cans and bags stored in front or sideyards and visible from public streets. 9361(1)(a) - Parking of vehicles - no person shall park any vehicle or component thereof for any purpose in front or sideyard areas on any "R" zoned lot, except in driveway areas. SECTION 2. The property owner is ordered to abate the nuisance within ten (10) days by the following methods: (1) Mow and regularly maintain all yard areas. (2) Remove trash cans and bags from view of the street. (3) Discontinue parking vehicles in sideyard adjacent to Sultanta Avenue. SECTION 3. If said abatement is not accomplished by the expiration of ten (10) days, the City Manager is hereby author- ized and directed to cause said public nuisance to be abated by City forces or private contractor pursuant to the Municipal Code. SECTION 4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be served on the owner of said prem- ises pursuant to the Municipal Code. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. Resolution No. 87 -2709, Page 2 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of April, 1987.
