Clerk Called meeting A, February 19 1938 yor This meeting was called to consider granting a contract for c(igging the tunnel at 7:45 P.M. by the Mayor. Those present:Jeremiassen,Sanden,Tinker,and Venable.The others had been consulted and had read the contract,which had been drawn up by Atty.Kelly.along the lines set forth in the minutes of Feb.17. and which was read by the clerk. Tinker.moved,Sanden seconded:That the agreement be accepted as r ead. All present voted aye upon roll c al .The absent members had given their consent. Members present:Burman,Henkins,Jeremiassen,Sanden,Tinker,& Venable. The minutes of the regular meeting cf Feb.1 and called meetings of Feb.14,17 and 19 were read and approved as read. A letter from the Tax Commission asked for some information consrning the cutsatnding bonds of the Town which ln._dormation has been sent in by the clerk as soon es the letter arrived. An application from Mrs.Hans Pearson as Election judge was read. Venable moved,Burman seconded:That the Board order a Town election on April 5 afor electing a Mayor and six trustees for the term of two years or until their sucesscrs be qualified. Ali. voted aye. Sanden moved,Hankins seconded: To aproint C. A.Brevton,Daisy Pearson and Eva Venable as election judges for the Town election.Motion carried. Venable moved,Senden seeonded: To instruct the clerk to crddr flowers for the C6rdill funeral.Motion carried. Clark %fJ.9 Called meeting rch 15 1938 Mayor Mayor Molander called the meeting to order at 7:45 for the purpose of investieating the insurance carried by the contractors at the well . Burman.,Hankins,Jeremiassen,Sanden,Tinker end Venable present. Mr.Kelly had been called to ask about a State inspector to look at the tunnel.Since he was out of town the clerk had called the State Mine Inspector and they had sent up a man who s : id he did not see any thing dangerous about the tunnel. The State Compensation Insurance Fund office had been called and they stated that the men at the tunnel would be carried on the Town policy at the rate of 8 6.85 per 100 paid.The contractors ag ,red to the insurance being paid by them. About ten men were working.
