AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION

R. P. WANDER, being duly sworn, on oath says he is and during all times here stated
has been the secretary and printer of the newspaper known as The Plymouth Sun
and has full knowledge of the facts herein stated as follows: (1) Said newspaper
is printed in the English language in newspaper format and in column and sheet form
equivalent in printed space to at least 900 square inches. (2) Said newspaper is a weekly and
is distributed at least once each week. (3) Said newspaper has 50% of its news columns devoted
to news of local interest to the community which it purports to serve and does not wholly
duplicate any other publication and is not made up entirely of patents, plate matter and
advertisements. (4) Said newspaper is circulated in and near the municipality which it purports
to serve, has at least 500 copies regularly delivered to paying subscribers, has an average of
at least 75% of its total circulation currently paid or no more than three months in arrears
and has entry as second-class matter in its local post -office. (5) Said newspaper purports to
serve the City of Wayzata and the Village of Plymouth in the County of Hennepin and it has its known
office of issue in the City of Wayzata in said county, established and open during its regular business
hours for the gathering of news, sale of advertisements and sale of subscriptions and main-
tained by the managing officer or persons in its employ and subject to his direction and con-
trol during all such regular business hours and devoted exclusively during such regular
business hours to the business of the newspaper and business related thereto. (6) Said news-
paper files a copy of each issue immediately with the State Historical Society. (7) Said news-
paper has complied with all the foregoing conditions for at least two years preceding the day
or dates of publication mentioned below. (8) Said newspaper has filed with the Secretary of
State of Minnesota prior to January 1, 1966 and each January 1 thereafter an affidavit in the
form prescribed by the Secretary of State and signed by the publisher of said newspaper and
sworn to before a notary public stating that the newspaper is a legal newspaper,

and published therein in the English language, once each week, for successive weeks;

.AN ORDINANCE RENAMING EXISTING
STREETS, AVENUES AND PUBLIC WAYS;
ESTABLISHING A SYSTEM FOR THE:
NAMING OF FUTURE: STREETS, AVE-
NUES AND PUBLIC WAYS; ESTABLISH-
ING A SYSTEM FOR NUMBERING OF
PROPERTIES; AND PROVIDING FOR THE:
N UMBERING OF PROPERTIES.
WHEREAS. there has been heretofore
no uniformity in the names of existing
streets. avenues and public ways in the
Village of Medina. and
WHEREAS. there has been heretofore no
system establishing for the naming of fu-
ture streets. avenues and public ways in
the Village of Medina. and
WHEREAS. it will be necessary to estab-
lish and correlate pmperty numbers in ac-
cordance with the provisions of this Ordi-
nance, and
WHEREAS. there has been heretofore no
provision for the establishment of property
numbers in the Village of Medina, and
WHEREAS. the Village Council of the
Village of Medina finds that the foregoing
is both desirable and necessary.
NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT ORDAINED
BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VIL-
LAGE OF MEDINA. AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Definition. For the purpose of
this Ordinance, the following phrases shall
have the meaning given herein.
Subdivision a. The term -existing street
name" shall. when used in this Ordinance.
mean the name by which a street. avenue
or public way or any pa•t thereof is
most commonly known or designated.
Subdivision b. The term "new street
name' shall. when used in this Ordinance
in connection with a stated "existing
street name," mean the name by which
said street. avenue or public way shall
be known from and after the effective
date of this Ordinance.
Subdivision c. The word "shall." when
used in this Ordinance. is always manda-
tory and not merely directive.
Section 2. New Street Names. Existing
street names are hereby changed and re-
named in accordance with the following tabu-
lation which shall be a pan of this Section 2:

sSection 3. Future Streets, Ave-
nues and Public W'ays.v Names of future
streetx avenues and public ways in the Vil-
lage of Medina shall insofar as possible
conform to the pattern of this Ordinance.
The pattem of this Ordinance is to designate
all streets. avenues and public ways running
generally North and South as "drives."
The pattern of this Ordinance is to designate
all streets. avenues and public ways running
generally East and West as 'roads." The
pattern of this Ordinance is to designate all
streets- avenues and puillic ways which are
running generally in a winding and'.or diago-
nal direction as "trails."
Section 4. (Plan for Numbering of Prop-
erties. Except as hereinafter provided. a
grid of Eight Hundred i8001 pe. mile is here-
by established throughout the entire Village
of Medina. The east to west grid numbering
shall commence at zero at the east boundary
line of the Village of Medina and terminate
at 4800 at the west boundary line of the Vil-
lage of Medina. The south to north grid
numbering shall commence at 1200 at the
south boundary line of the Village of Medina
and shall terminate at 4800 at the north
boundary line of the Village of Medina.
Brockton Lane and Highway No. 101. which
are public ways common to the Village of
llymouth and the Village of Medina. shall
be an exception to the above described grid
within the Village of Medina, and the num-
bering of these public ways shall be made
to correspond to the numbering on these
public ways by the Village of Plymouth.
Section 5.Numbering of Properties. The '.:_<<,
Village Council shall, upon or after the effec-
tive date of this Ordinance. appoint an offi-
cial of the Village of Medina to assign
numbers to the several properties within the '-e-E--
Village of Medina in accordance with the
plan set out in this Ordinance in Section 4.
and for .all future pmperties as their num-
bering shall become necessary. To avoid con-
fusion. the assignment of numbers on East-
West streets coming from the Village of
Plymouth shall be in accordance with the
grid plan described in Section 4 of this Ordi-
nance. but in no case shall a number as-
signed to the Village of Medina duplicate
a number assigned on the same street in
the Village of Plymouth.
The Village ('lerk shall prepare and keep
as a part of the permanent records of the
Village a record of all numbered properties
so assigned. such record to be opened for
inspection by the public at all reasonable
hours.
Section 6. Effective Date. This Ordinance
shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication.
Passed by the Village Council of the Vil-
lage of Medina this 4 day of March. 1969.
