Resolution Repealing Resolution 2019-03 and
Setting a New Schedule for Community Events
WHEREAS, on January 8, 2019, City Council passed Resolution 2019-03 Resolution Approving Certain
Dates for Community Festivals for the City of Riverdale; and,
WHEREAS, the schedule of events established in Resolution 2019-03 is no longer applicable and should
be repealed; and,
WHEREAS, staff recommends the following revised schedule of community events for events beginning
January 1, 2024:
Event
Tentative Schedule
Volunteer Recognition Banquet
Mid to late January
Easter Egg Hunt
The Saturday of the weekend preceding Easter weekend
Summer Festival
June or July
RFD Open House
Late September/early October
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverdale, Iowa, that:
Section 1. Resolution 2019-03 is hereby repealed and replaced with this Resolution and the the above
listed schedule of community event is hereby accepted and adopted.
Section 2, Staff shall select specific dates for each event and, when practicable, add those dates to the
annual calendar that is published for all Riverdale residents and businesses.
