HomeMy Public PortalAbout046-2001 - 2002 Salary Ordinance - Police/FireORDINANCE NO. 46 - 2001 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE TO BE KNOWN AS THE 2002 FIREFIGHTER AND POLICE OFFICER SALARY ORDINANCE WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-8-3-3(d) requires Common Council to fix the annual compensation of all police officers and fire fighters; and WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Board of Public Works & Safety and John Hennigar Lodge No. 63 of the Fraternal Order of Police have reached an agreement on salary levels for 2002; and WHEREAS, the City of Richmond and Richmond Professional Firefighters, Inc. AFL-CIO Local 1408 have reached an agreement on salary levels for 2002, which agreement was formally executed by the Board of Public Works & the Richmond Professional Firefighters, Inc. AFL-CIO Local 1408 in December, 2000 NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that the following positions be compensated not in excess of the respective sums hereafter set forth during calendar year 2002, to wit: Section 1 – Police Department Position Current Salary 2002 Salary 2002 Bi-Weekly Salary 1.01 Captain $37,662.00 $40,110.00 $1,542.70 1.02 Lieutenant $36,571.00 $38,948.00 $1,498.00 1.03 Sergeant $35,479.00 $37,785.00 $1,453.27 1.04 Investigator $33,842.00 $36,041.00 $1,386.20 1.05 Patrolman $32,204.00 $34,297.00 $1,319.12 1.06 Additional Compensation. In addition to the bi-weekly salaries set forth in Sections 1.01 through 1.05 above, all benefits agreed upon in the agreement dated September 11, 2000 and between the Board of Works and Public Safety on behalf of the City of Richmond, Indiana and John Hennigar Lodge No. 63 of the Fraternal Order of Police are hereby incorporated by reference. Section 2 – Fire Department Position Current Salary 2002 Salary 2002 Bi-Weekly Salary 2.01 Inspector $35,223.00 $39,963.00 $1,421.66 2.02 Lieutenant $35,334.00 $39,963.00 $1,421.66 2.03 Engineer $33,870.00 $35,475.00 $1,364.43 2.04 Firefighter $32,404.00 $33,862.00 $1,302.39 2.05 Prob.Firefighter $28,795.26 $30,091.00 $1,157.35 2.07 Additional Compensation. In addition to the bi-weekly salaries set forth in Sections 2.01 through 2.05 above, all benefits agreed upon in the Professional Negotiation Agreement to be entered into between the City of Richmond, Indiana and Richmond Professional Firefighters, Inc. AFL-CIO Local 1408 are hereby incorporated by reference. 2.08 The salaries and benefits set forth in this Section 2 shall be contingent upon the Board of Public Works and the Richmond Professional Firefighters, Inc. AFL-CIO Local 14087 executing the previously agreed upon Professional Negotiation Agreement.
