HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 87-27361 RESOLUTION NO. 87 -2736 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DECLARING CERTAIN PREMISES TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND ORDERING ABATEMENT THEREOF. FOR THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Temple City has by Resolution No. PC 87 -1362 determined that a public nui- sance, as defined in the Municipal Code, exists on certain prem- ises and recommends abatement thereof; and WHEREAS, no appeal has been taken from said determination with respect to time in which to abate the nuisance; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE: SECTION 1. That a public nuisance, as defined in the Municipal Code of the City of Temple City, exists on the premises designated as 9901 Las Tunas Drive, City of Temple City, Califor- nia, and more particularly described as Lot 44, Tract 6561, Map Book 72, pages 34 -35 of maps in the Office of the County Re- corder, County of Los Angeles, State of California, in the fol- lowing particulars: 4201 - The accumulation and storage of abandoned, wrecked, dismantled or inoperative vehicles or parts thereof ... may be declared to constitute a public nuisance. 4230(n) - Signs, buildings or other structures in Commercial and Industrial Zones which are not adequately maintained by reason of (1) unpainted surfaces, (2) broken elements or (3) disrepair. SECTION 2. The property owner is ordered to abate the nuisance within twenty (20) days by the following methods: (1) Remove inoperative vehicles and vehicle parts or store completely within an enclosed building. (2) Repaint north side of building and the face and poles of the existing pole sign. SECTION 3. If said abatement is not accomplished by the expiration of twenty (20) days, the City Manager is hereby au- thorized and directed to cause said public nuisance to be abated by City forces or private contractor pursuant to the Municipal Code. SECTION 4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be served on the owner of said prem- ises pursuant to the Municipal Code. I SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of September, 1987.
