Resolution Authorizing the Purchase
of Certain Public Works Equipment
WHEREAS, during the 2023 mowing season, the City of Riverdale released its lawn care contractor from
its contract; and,
WHEREAS, during that same season, the public works department leased a commercial -grade lawn
mower and maintained all City properties for the remainder of the season; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Works Operations Manager has researched purchasing a commercial -grade lawn
mower and utility trailer and recommends the purchase of a Toro 74020 Z -Master 4000 60" 35 HP
Kawasaki FX mower at a cost of $11,354.42, and a 2024 Sure-Trac ST7210HSA-B-030 utility trailer at a
cost of $3,150, for a total cost of $14,504.42; and,
WHEREAS, the funding sources for this action are:
75% #001-430-6320 Parks, grounds maintenance/repair
13% #001-650-6320 City Hall Buildings and Grounds, grounds maintenance/repair
12% #001-150-6320 Fire, grounds maintenance/repair
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverdale, Iowa, that:
Section 1, The Public Works Operations Manager is authorized to purchase the above -listed Public
Works equipment during FY24 and allocate the purchases as indicated above.
