The President of the Board of Directors of the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District has
called a special meeting of the Board for the purpose of considering Special Meeting Public
Session Agenda Item 1. The Special Meeting will commence at the conclusion of the Regular
Public Meeting.

Cancellation of January 24, 2001 Regular Board Meeting and heduling of a Special Meeting
of the Board of Directors on January 31 2001
GENERAL MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Cancel your January 24, 2001 Regular Meeting.
2. Schedule a Special Board Meeting for January 31, 2001.
DISCUSSION
Due to the January 15, 2001 Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday, the preparation time for the January
24, 2001 Board meeting packet is reduced. Given that a significant item on the proposed agenda
for that meeting is the presentation of the Preliminary Action Plan for implementation of the
District's basic policy for the 2001-2002 fiscal year, and that this agenda item requires
substantial preparation time, it is recommended that the January 24, 2001 meeting be canceled
and rescheduled for January 31, 2001. This will allow an additional week of preparation time,
while still maintaining a two-week period between the January 31 special meeting and the
February 14, 2001 regular meeting.
