HomeMy Public PortalAbout2020-11-02 pre-meeting CITY COUNCIL “PRE-MEETING” WORK SESSION, NOVEMBER 2, 2020 CALL TO ORDER Mayor Carrie Tergin called the November 2, 2020 City Council “Pre-Meeting” to order at 5:45 P.M. to review the agenda. Due to COVID-19/social distancing recommendations, the meeting was held virtually and streamed live on Facebook. ATTENDANCE The following Councilmembers were present when the meeting convened: Present: Fitzwater, Graham, Hensley, Hussey, Kemna, Lester, Schreiber, Vogt, Ward, and Wiseman Absent: None A quorum was present. DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS Councilmember Fitzwater will lead the prayer. Miscellaneous - Mayor Tergin will announce Mayor’s Mask-Up Mid-MO initiative updates. Dr. Robbins will be attending virtually with additional announcements. Presentations from Staff, Consultants & Invited Guests - Diane Gillespie will present the Jefferson City Convention & Visitors Bureau Annual Budget. Announcements - Donna Deetz with the Historic City of Jefferson will provide an update on potential, historical trails throughout the City. Consent Agenda Items - Councilmember Graham will have questions related to Item G. Grant Acceptance of CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Fund through Cole County in the Amount of $834,039.70. - Councilmember Wiseman intends to pull Item F. off the Consent Agenda: Authorize Year 4 Renewal of the $185,000 Agre ement with Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce for Economic Development Services. CITY COUNCIL “PRE-MEETING” WORK SESSION, NOVEMBER 2, 2020 Bills Introduced - City Staff presented their respective introduced bills. - City Staff is requesting a suspension of the rules to third read and pass 2020 - 44 related to the authorization of a supplemental appropriation for Worker’s Comp Insurance. Councilmember Hensley will request the suspension of the rules. Bills Pending - City Staff presented their respective pending bills. Resolutions - City Staff presented their respective resolutions. - Councilmember Lester will make a motion to amend RS2020-19 related to the UDC Marker. ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 5:58 P.M.
