Town Council and Staff Gear Up For Annual Keep Leesburg
Beautiful Litter Collection Challenge
Leesburg, VA (April 7, 2016) – The Leesburg Town
Council and staff members are gearing up for this
year’s Keep Leesburg Beautiful litter collection
challenge. The winners of the challenge will claim
the “Golden Trash Can” award and bragging rights
for the year. Last year, the two groups collected a
combined total of 4,660 pounds of trash
throughout the Town during the challenge.
Residents, neighborhoods, community groups and
businesses can participate in Keep Leesburg
Beautiful by forming teams to collect litter along
roadsides, stream beds and other public common
areas. Visit the Town of Leesburg website at
www.leesburgva.gov/KLB for details about how to
participate and suggestions for litter collection
locations. The Town of Leesburg will provide safety
vests, gloves and trash bags and will collect the
filled bags and larger items like tires and appliances.
Keep Leesburg Beautiful runs through the month of April. All registered groups will be
recognized at the May 10 Town Council meeting. For more information, visit the Town website
at www.leesburgva.gov/KLB or contact the Department of Public Works and Capital Projects at
