Mayor Groninga Presiding.
Councilmen Present-Luwe-Tjaden-Huisman-Okones-Starr.
Minutes of last meeting read and on motion were approved.
Motion by Luwe second by Okonea that Mayor appoint two park board
members and two councilmen to try and buy strip of ground from Mr. a
Mrs. Harm Penning for not more than $1500.00, carried.
Moyion by Huisman. second by Starr to file treasures report, carried.
Motion by Huisman second by Tjaden that Wellsburg Insurance Agency.
be given General Liabilty Insurance for sumof $158.169 carried.
Eouncil canvassed election of Jan. 28 and found the following public
measure adopted by avote of (303) yes and (7) no votes and (1) spoiled
ballot, and declared measure carried.
Shall the Town of Wellsburg, Iowa, extend and
reconstruct its Municipal Waterworks by the
construction of a new deep well and the furnish-
ing and installing of necessary auxiliary equip-
ment in connection therewith, and to aid in the
cost of the construction thereof to contract in-
debtedness for such purpose not exceeding
$27,000.00, and issue bonds for such purpose not
exceeding $27,000.00 and levy a tax annually upon
the taxable property in said Town not exceeding
three (3) mills per annum for the payment of
such bonds and the interest thereon?
Motion by Starr second by Luwe to allow bills, carried.
