Gentlemen:- Wherea we are informed that a meeting duly held recommendations have been mace to the Board of Health of Rhinelander and the Common Council that certain boat- houses along the Wie. river near the intake of the water supply be removed in furtberanceof the effort to obtain better water and Whereat the undersigned are owners ofboat-houses along the. Wis. river designatedat said recommendation,who would be put to considerable expense and trouble in the eventthat the said recommendation is carried out ,and are, with few exceptions, men of not very great meansbut nevertheless ready and willing to do everythingwithin their power to assist in the worthy move- mentof obtaining a. better water supply, feeling that said recommendation was made hastily and without due consideration. Therefore we the undersigned, respectfully petition and represent that it would be of greater advantage to extend. said intake across the river at a. point considerably above and removed from both the boathouses in question a.nd, all other refuse frornthe Mills operating in that vicinity which would be a considerable saving in expense and would not onlykeep said intake free` from any possible danger as the result of the location of said b©athouses but also free from all refuse from the mills, Signed: Hans Rodd and22others. From e verbal report by City Engineer Smith upon advise from the State Board of Health with regards to the installation of a duplicate Manual Control Chlorine plant and after some discussion by members of the Council it was moved by Bethel and. 2nd. by Joslin that the city Engineer be instructed. to install same.
