RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET AND
THE CARTERET HOUSING AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the Borough ofCarteret finds that hiring additional police personnel will be
in the best interest and welfare of the Borough's residents; and
WHEREAS, the Borough does not have resources alone to retain the additional officers
to imp~ement the desired additional patrols and security programs; and
WHEREAS, with regard to additional police personnel the Borough would like to enter
into a partnership with the Carteret Housing Authority to pay for additional police
officers; and
WHEREAS, the Borough and Carteret Housing Authority desire to enter into said
partnership to provide for additional police personnel for added public safety and security
reasons; and
WHEREAS, the parties have reached an agreement with regard to providing a source of
funding for the additional police personnel and wish to formalize their agreement
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
ofCarteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey that:
1. A copy of the agreement is attached and made a part hereof; and
2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into said agreement with the Carteret
Housing Authority; and
3. The appropriate borough officials are hereby authorized and directed to carry
out the terms of the aforementioned agreement; and
4. A copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Carteret Housing Authority.
