HomeMy Public PortalAbout2005.012 - LUARESOLUTION NO. 2005.012 A RESOLUTION OF THE LYNWOOD UTILITY AUTHORITY AUTHORIZING STAFF TO PURCHASE NEEDED MATERIALS, SUPPLIES AND SERVICES THROUGH AN INFORMAL BID PROCESS FOR THE UPGRADE OF THE EXISTING WATER PRESSURE RELIEF /SUSTAINING VALVE CONCRETE VAULT WHEREAS, the pressure ~"- northeast corner of Imperial Highway l pressure of the City Water System; and r I~ l relief/substaining valve located at the and McNerney Avenue regulates the WHEREAS, said valve is housed in an existing vault that does not meet Cal-Osha regulations and Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction ;and WHEREAS, said vault needs to be upgraded to meet the regulations and standards mentioned above; and WHEREAS, the upgrade of the existing concrete vault can be done more expeditiously through an informal bid process; and WHEREAS, Section 6-3.13c of the Lynwood Municipal Code allows the City Council to approve said informal bid process with a 4/5 vote. NOW, THEREFORE, the Lynwood Utility Authority does hereby resolve, order, and determine as follows: Section 1. That staff is authorized to solicit bids for the upgrade of the existing concrete vault located at the northeast corner of Imperial Highway and McNerney Avenue through an informal bid process. Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 16th day of August, 2005.
