Leesburg-based KDM Systems, Inc. Receives HUBZone

Leesburg, VA (April 25, 2016) – KDM Systems, Inc.,
a leading provider of advisory services and
technology products to the U.S. Government,
recently secured certification under the Small
Business Administration’s HUBZone (Historically
Underutilized Business Zone) program.
Founded in 2002, KDM’s capabilities include spacecraft lifecycle support, modeling and
simulation, precision location, systems engineering, network technology and wireless solutions.
KDM is located in the Mason Enterprise Center – Leesburg in downtown Leesburg and has
additional offices in southern California and Denver, Colorado. For more information, visit

KDM’s President, Dr. Keith Hathaway noted, “We are poised as a company with significant
technical depth and many years of experience in the Intelligence Community and government
contracting world. This HUBZone certification allows KDM to grow to our full potential as a
leading small business government contractor. We are excited to watch KDM’s success
continue on into the future.”
“KDM’s certification is representative of the growth and productivity of businesses in the
Leesburg HUBZone,” said Kindra Harvey, Leesburg’s Business Development Manager. “It is
exciting to see businesses, here in our Town, who actively seek a certification primarily focused
on giving back to the community. We are proud of all of the Leesburg companies who have
earned their HUBZone certifications.”
The HUBZone (Historically Underutilized Business Zone) program was created in 1997 to
promote economic development and employment growth in distressed areas. Certified
HUBZone businesses receive competitive advantages and price preferences when vying for
federal contracts. To be certified, a business must have its primary office location in a
HUBZone, must be a small business by SBA standards, must be 51% American-owned and 35%
of its employees must live in a HUBZone. The Leesburg HUBZone is the first, and only, HUBZone
in Loudoun County. For more information, please visit www.leesburgva.gov/hubzone.
