“Thomas Balch Library could not begin to provide our myriad of services with our volunteers,”
said Alexandra Gressitt, Library Director. “Volunteers assist with everything from behind-the-
scenes processing of manuscript collections to assisting researchers locate records to teaching
seminars and leading tours. This annual luncheon is my favorite event of the year because we
recognize the importance of this talented and dedicated group of people.”
“The Town is extremely fortunate to have such a dedicated group of volunteers to support the
mission of the Thomas Balch Library,” said Keith Markel, Leesburg’s Deputy Town Manager.
“Through their hard work, they continue to make the Library a nationally recognized center for
history and research. Their service to the Library makes it possible to share collections that
have not been available to public and to offer excellent programs that make our community’s
history relevant to thousands of patrons each year.”
