The Wellsburg City.Cbuncil met in special session at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday,
January 21, 1976 with Mayor Gene Blythe presiding. The meeting was called to
order with Councilmen Huisman, V?n Deest, Bausman and Terfehn present.
The first item of business was the discussion of a used mower. On a
motion by Bausman, seconded by Aeilt Terfehn, it was decided to buy a mower
for $1200.00. Carried.
The well in th` ?a k wa he next item of business: Dennis Huisman sub-
mitted r' � J�O o pu min a valve and hook it up to the tower. Huisman
made a motion to have the well hooked up to the tower and this was seconded by
Van Deest. Carried.
The Merman M. Brown Co. was rresent to demonstrate a 1967 model stroet sireeper
with a 3 yard hopper. It was an 1l-in Leach br-q_id vt-ich sells for $10,500.
The council offered to buy it for $9,000. with a new broom. After more dis-
cussion, Huisman made a motion to buy the sw®eper for $9,500 which would
include a new gutter broom and a now pick-ul broom. The 71ty of Wellsburg
and the Herman M. Brown Co., are to split the freight charges. Motion 2nd by
Bausman. Carried.
Moved by Huisman, 2nd by Van Deest to adjourn. carried. _

The Wellsburg City Council met in reGdlar session on February 2,
1976, with Mayor pro tem Huisman presiding and all
council members
present.

Moved by Van Deest, 2nd by Bausman to approve the renewal of a
Beer & Liquor License for Wallace Deters, dba Wellsburg Tap. Carried.
Letters were received from HUD advising the mayor and council
that the pre -application grant made by the City of Wellsburg was
approved at a special meeting of HUD on January 15,
1976.

Moved by Van Deest, 2nd by Bausman that the city engage Ann DeVries
to handle the reservations for the shelter house at the city park for
1976 at a fee of $35. Carried.

The Wellsburg City Council met in regular session on March
with Mayor Blythe presiding and Councilmen Cordes, Van Deest,
and Terfehn present.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved on
Cordes, seconded by Van Deest. Carried.
Van Deest moved, Cordes seconded allowance of the following
payment:

Moved by Van Deest, seconded by Bausman to allow $8 per fireman for
a maximum of 14 to attend basic cardiac life support school. Carried.
Van Deest moved, Cordes seconded a motion to allow the firemen to
purchase three hiband radios and one base radio at a cost not to exceed
$2500 with the city to pay 751/o of the cost. Carried.
The library budget for 1976-77 was approved on a motion by Van Deest,
seconded by Bbusman. Carried.
Moved by Cordes, seconded by Van Deest to pay $350 toward the summer
recreation program in conjunction with the local school. Carried.
Moved by Cordes, seconded by Van Deest to approve the proposed
planting plan as drafted by Jordan's Nursery for Blythe Park at the
swimming pool site. Carried.
A motion was made by Cordes, seconded by Terfehn to amend the original)
wage agreement for Leon Abels and allow said employee an increase of
