AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM
THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION PASSIVE GRADE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM,
WHEREAS, the Indiana Department of Transportation Passive Grade Improvement Program has grant funding available; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond desires to submit a grant application to install centerlines and stop bars at the railroad crossing on North 8th Street and at the crossing at N.W. “L”
Street
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the Indiana Department of Transportation Passive Grade Improvement Program to install centerlines and stop
bars at the railroad crossing on North 8th Street and at the crossing at N.W. “L” Streets.
The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Seven Hundred Eighty-eight Dollars and Forty-six Cents ($788.46).
Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated to install centerlines and stop bars at the railroad crossing on North 8th Street and at the crossing at N.W. “L”
Streets.
Passed and adopted this 16th day of July, 2001, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
