HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd. 689 - Proclaiming General City ElectionORDINANCE NO. 689 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MCCALL, IDAHO, PROCLAIMING A GENERAL CITY ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 7, 1995, DESIGNATING THE POLLING PLACE, DESIGNATING THE REGISTRAR AND DEPUTY REGISTRARS, AND ORDERING THE CITY CLERK TO GIVE NOTICE OF SUCH ELECTION. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MCCALL, IDAHO, THAT: Section 1. The general city election will be held in and for the City of McCall, Idaho on the 7th day of November 1995, at which time there will be elected two council members to serve for a term of four years and one council member to serve for a term of two years, or until the election and qualification of their successors. Section 2. The polling place for such election is designated as the lower level of City Hall, (the "American Legion Hall,") 216 East Park Street, McCall, Idaho. Section 3. The registrar and deputy registrars for this election are as follows: REGISTRAR: James H. Henderson DEPUTY REGISTRARS: Cherry J. Woodbury Linda D. Harris Judy L. Sargent Cari J. Arthur Section 4. The Clerk, for and on behalf of the Mayor and Council, shall give public notice of the time and place of such general city election by posting such notice in three public places or publishing such notice in at least two issues of the Star News, a newspaper published in the city of McCall, Idaho, and the official newspaper of said city. The first publication of such notice is to be made not less than 45 days prior to the election and the last publication not less than 15 days prior to the election; the notice so published shall state the polling place in each precinct and the hours during which the polls shall be open for the purpose of voting; said notice is to contain information in accordance with the requirements of Section 50436 of the Idaho Code. That pursuant to the provisions of Section 50-207, Idaho Code, I keep a correct journal of the proceedings of the Council of the City of McCa11, Idaho, and that I am the statutory custodian of all laws, ordinances and resolutions of said City. 2. That the attached Ordinance No. 689 is a true and correct copy of an ordinance passed at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of McCall held on August 24, 1995, and duly recorded in my office; and 3. That said regular meeting was duly convened and held in all respects in accordance with law and to the extent required by law, due and proper notice of such meeting having been given; that a legal quorum was present throughout the meeting and that a legally sufficient number of members of the Council voted in the proper manner and for the passage of said ordinance; and that all other requirements and proceedings incident to the proper adoption and passage of said ordinance have been duly fulfilled, carried out and observed; and that I am authorized to execute this certificate.
