Police Personnel Board
Minutes-September 17, 2020
3:00 p.m.
The meeting was called to order at 3:03 p.m.
Eleven persons attended as follows:

Following greetings, roll call was taken.
Approval of June 4, 2020 minutes
It was moved by Shoun and seconded by Lehman that the minutes from June 4, 2020 Board Meeting be
approved. The motion was carried unanimously.
New Business – Lt. Stiefermann and Lt. Williams discussed the candidates for the recent testing as follows:
Police Officer - There were 43 applications for P.O. and 24 of these signed up for testing in which 16 tested.
Ten candidates successfully passed the Police Officer written test.
Communications Operator – There were 31 applications for C.O. and 11 of these signed up for testing in which
7 tested. Six of the candidates successfully passed the Communications Operator written test.
Lt. Stiefermann announced that the veterinarian application process has been extended. He went on to say
that the part-time Records Clerk position closed on 9/16/2020 and interviews will be starting next week;
September 21-22.
There was a brief discussion on the hiring process and the role of the Police Personnel Board.
Begin Closed Session (see closed session for details)
A motion was made by Shoun and seconded by Lehman to go into closed session at 3:14 p.m. for the Police
Personnel Board to go into closed session pursuant to RSMo.610.021 of the revised Statutes of Missouri; the
motion passed.
Roll call was as follows:

End Closed Session
A motion was made by Lehman and seconded by Shoun for the Police Personnel Board to come out of closed
session at 3:44 p.m. pursuant to RSMo.610.021 of the revised Statutes of Missouri; the motion passed.

Kemp Shoun – yes Lisa Lehman – yes Dan Klindt - yes
Backues discussed the yearly BBQ that is sponsored by Jefferson Bank for the Police Department which will be
held on October 14th at the Police Department. He asked for volunteers from the Board and will email the
Board with updates before the event.

Adjourn
It was moved by Backues and seconded by Scruggs for adjournment. The motion carried. The meeting was
adjourned at 3:48 p.m.
