RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE REJECTION OF BID -
WEST CARTERET/HILL DISTRICT SANITARY SEWER
REHABILITATION CONTRACT/PROPOSAL A
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret, (the "Borough") solicited bids for the West
Carteret/l:iill District Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Contract/ Proposal A (Pipe and
Manhole Repair/Replacement Project); and
WHEREAS, on Monday, February 28, 2005, one (1) bid for said contract was
received from B&B Construction in the amount of $422,540.00; and
WHEREAS, the aforementioned sole bid was substantially higher than the
project engineer's cost estimate for the same and improperly included a bid of
$50,000.00 for the Mobilization Item;

WHEREAS, the project engineer, T&M Associates, has recommended the
rejection of the above referenced bid and has requested authorization to re-bid
Proposal A (Pipe and Manhole Repair/Replacement Project).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE' IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, that the sole bid
of B&B Construction in the amount of $422,540.00 for Proposal A of the West
Carteret/ Hill District Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Contract is hereby rejected.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that T&M Associates and the Borough's
Purchasing Department are hereby authorized to re-bid the aforementioned
project.

and certified as a true copy of the
original on March 4, 2005.
