Resolution Approving a New City Seal
WHEREAS, the current City seal is outdated and no digital version exists; and,
WHEREAS, the City Clerk/Treasurer has proposed a new City seal that incorporates the current City logo
and can be distributed in both digital and embossed form; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance 01-2024, amending the description of the City seal pursuant to the City Clerk/
Treasurer's recommendation, was passed on February 13, 2024; and,
WHEREAS, the City wishes to authorize the use of the new City seal from this day forward; and,
WHEREAS, this action does not negate or delegitimize the former City seal affixed upon documents prior
to this day.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverdale, Iowa, that:
Section 1. The City Clerk/Treasurer is authorized to obtain a new City sealing device pursuant to the
description in Ordinance 01-2024.
Section 2. The City Clerk/Treasurer is authorized to decommission the former City seal and utilize the
new City seal as authorized in Ordinance 01-2024, passed on February 13, 2024.
Section 3. All City seals rendered prior to the passage date of this resolution remain official and
legitimate.
Passed, approved, and adopted this 13th day of February 2024.
