Proclaiming March 7, 1993 through March 13, 1993 as
"SAVE YOUR VISION WEEK"
in the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida
WHEREAS, the ability to see is a valuable and precious
sense that greatly contributes to the welfare of the entire
community at large; and
WHEREAS, vision is an important part of health, well being and
happiness of individual citizens; and
WHEREAS, the people of Gulf Stream are fortunate to have
access to quality eye care and accurate eye health information;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, William F. Koch, Jr., Mayor of the Town
of Gulf Stream, Florida, do hereby proclaim March 7, 1993
through March 13, 1993 as
"SAVE YOUR VISION WEEK"
and urge all the citizens of Gulf Stream to reflect on the
valuable role vision has played in their lives, and to
give special attention to their eye care needs this particular
week; and furthermore, I ask all doctors of optometry, other
health care professionals, community leaders, educators and the
news media to work together in a common public service effort to
help everyone in Gulf Stream understand and appreciate the
importance of proper care of their eyes.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have herewith set my hand and caused
the Seal of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida to be affixed
this 12th day of February, 1993.

Dear Mayor Koch Jr.:
The Palm Beach County Optometric Society is asking you to join the
President of the United States in declaring the week of March 7 to 13,
1993, as "Save Your Vision" Week.
We are requesting that you issue a proclamation at a regularly scheduled
meeting of your council during that week or just prior to March 7th. One of
our member doctors -would be pleased to attend the council meeting to
receive the proclamation in person if you will call or write us with the
date and time.
If it is your policy to mail a proclamation instead, please let us know and
we will give you the mailing address.
A sample proclamation is enclosed should you wish to use it.
This proclamation is an important part of the Palm Beach County Optometric
Society's efforts during.March, which is Save Your Vision Month, to remind
people how important good vision is in their daily lives and to encourage
them to take care of their eyes by having regular eye examinations.
