HomeMy Public PortalAbout03/10/1998 * Election DayMAYOR'S PROCLAMATION FOR ELECTION Proclaiming March 10, 1998 ELECTION DAY in the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida WHEREAS, the Town Charter of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida requires that a Town Election be held on the second Tuesday in March on any year in which a vacancy or vacancies are occasioned by expiration or early termination of the terms of office of Commissioners; and WHEREAS, vacancies of two Commission seats have occurred prior to the expiration the the terms due to the resignations of two Commission members, NOW, THEREFORE, I, William F. Koch, Jr., Mayor, do hereby proclaim the following: 1. An election will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 1998 for the purpose of electing two (2) Town Commissioners who shall hold office for a term of one (1) year, beginning on Friday, March 13, 1998 at noon. 2. The election shall be held in the Town Hall of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida located at 100 Sea Road in Gulf Stream and the polling place shall be open between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M., Eastern Standard Time. 3. Only qualified, registered voters of the Town of Gulf Stream shall be allowed to vote in this election. 4. Any person who desires to have his or her name placed upon the official ballot shall file with the Town Clerk, beginning at noon on January 27, 1998 and no later than noon on February 10, 1998, a petition signed by at least four (4) qualified electors of the Town of Gulf Stream requesting such person to become a candidate for such office. 5. A copy of this Proclamation shall be posted on the Town Bulletin Board at least thirty (30) days prior to the day of the election. IN WITNESS Seal of the Town of January, 1998.
