Proclaiming the month of April, 1991 as
MONTH OF THE YOUNG CHILD
WHEREAS, the Association for the Education of Young
Children of the Palm Beaches and other local organizations in
conjunction with the National Association for the Education of
Young Children, is celebratinq the Month of the Young Child,
April 1 to 30, 1991 and
WHEREAS, by calling attention to the need for quality
child care for all young children and families within our
community, these groups hope to improve the quality and avail-
ability of such services, and
WHEREAS, the quality of services is primarily determined
by the individual teachers and caregivers who perform this
valuable work; and
WHEREAS, the work of early childhood professionals is
not fully understood and is under - appreciated; and
WHEREAS, quality child care services can provide the
basis for a good beginning for children's sound growth and
development.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, William F. Koch, Jr. Mayor of the
Town of Gulf Stream, Florida do hereby proclaim April 1 to 30,
1991 as
MONTH OF THE YOUNG CHILD
IN THE Town of Gulf Stream and urge all citizens to recognize
the valuable contributions of early childhood teachers and care-
givers and to actively support the need for more and better child
care within our community.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and
caused the Seal of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida to be
affixed this 12th day of April, 1991.

The Association for the Education of Young Children of the
Palm Beaches, an affiliate of the National Association for
the Education of Young Children, is sponsoring the
celebration of the "Month of the Young Child ", April 1 -30,
1991.
As a representative of your community, we respectfully
request your contribution to these festivities by issuing a
proclamation from your municipality and encouraging related
departments to host special events to join in the
celebration. A sample proclamation is enclosed for your
convenience.
