OBSERVING
NATIONAL VICTIMS' RIGHTS WEEK.
WHEREAS, criminal violence preys on millions of Americans
each year; and
WHEREAS, victims of crime and their families and friends
often suffer grave financial, physical and psychological
losses; and
WHEREAS, all victims of crime share a common bond of
suffering and loss; and
WHEREAS, all citizens of the United States deserve to be
treated with dignity, compassion and justice in times of
distress; and
WHEREAS, equal protection of the law and an effective
criminal justice system should be afforded to all victims,
witnesses and their loved ones or survivors; and
WHEREAS, thousands of our fellow citizens, in their work
and their volunteer activities, are devoting themselves to
bringing a full measure of dignity, compassion and justice to
those of our friends, relatives and neighbors who fall victim
to crime;
NOW, THEREFORE,///on behalf of the Village Council and the
citizens of Tequesta, the week of April i'7 through April ?.B,J•,
19WC'gis proclaimed as Victims' Rights Week. All citizens and
institutions, public and private, are urged to support the
enforcement of victim rights and services.

Lord, 1988, with the Official Seal of Tequesta affixed hereto.
