AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING OF CHAPTER 93
OF TIlE CODE OF THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET
BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret (the
"Borough") as follow:;:
SECTION 1. Chapter 93, entitled "Housing Standards; Unsafe and Abandoned
Buildings" is hereby amended and supplemented to add a new paragraph to Section, 93-
5, to read as follows:
93-5 Additional rules and regulations.
B. The public officer is hereby directed to identify, as soon as possible after
the adoption of this ordinance and by March 31 sl of each succeeding year
thereafter, abandoned property for the purpose of establishing an abandoned
property list throughout the municipality pursuant to NJ.S.A. 55: 19-55.
SECTION 2. All CTdinances or parts thereof inconsistent with the provision of this
Ordinance are hereby-repealed limited to the extent of any such inconsistency_
SECTION 3. If any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause or provision of this
Ordinance is adjudged invalid, such adjudication shall apply only to the section,
paragraph, subdivision, clause or provision so adjudged and the remainder of this
Ordinance shall be deemed valid and effective.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect upon passage and publication according
to applicable law.
