Proclaiming the week of April 26 through May 3, 1992 as
SOIL AND WATER STEWARDSHIP WEEK
WHEREAS, our well -being depends on the production of
ample food, fiber and other products of the soil; and
WHEREAS, the quality and quantity of these products
depend on the conservation, wise use and proper management of
soil and water resources; and
WHEREAS, protection of our water from pollution
depends on sound conservation practices; and
WHEREAS, conservation districts provide a practical
and democratic organization through which landowners take the
initiative to conserve and make proper use of these resources;
and
WHEREAS, the conservation movement is carrying
forward a program of soil and water conservation in co-
operation with numerous agencies and countless individuals:
THEREFORE, I, in full appreciation of the value
of our soil and water to the public welfare, and desiring
to honor those who protect those resources, do hereby
proclaim April 26 through May 3, 1992 as
"SOIL AND WATER STEWARDSHIP WEEK"
and urge all residents of the Town of Gulf Stream to donate
their time and their resources to support Soil and Water
Stewardship activities.
