MEDINA CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES OF OCTOBER 18, 2011
The City Council of Medina, Minnesota met in special session on October 18, 2011 at
6:04 p.m. at the Medina City Hall, 2052 County Road 24, Medina, MN.
I. Call to Order
Members present: Crosby, Siitari, Pederson, Weir
Members absent: Martinson
Also present: City Administrator Scott Johnson, Public Works Superintendent
Steve Scherer, City Planner Dusty Finke, Timothy Chalupnik TKDA, Sherri Buss
TKDA, Jerry Mortenson Hennepin County, and Craig Twinem Hennepin County.
II. highway 55/County Road 116 Intersection
Chalupnik, Buss, and Twinem provided a presentation on the proposed intersection
improvements for Highway 55/County Road 116. The presentation included: detail on
the proposed intersection lanes, proposed access closures to businesses on Highway 55,
and three options were discussed for the new alignment of Clydesdale. Council directed
staff to hold an open house on November 14, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM to receive
feedback on the information that was discussed.
III. Tower Drive Road Project
Council Member Pederson, Johnson and Scherer provided Council with an update
regarding the project open house that was held on October l lth. The business and home
owners at the meeting understood the need for the project, but requested more time for
the economy to improve. Council directed staff to move the project to 2014 on the
Capital Improvement Plan.
IV. Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
