ADJOURNMENT Regular Meeting -June 19, 2008 Motion Second Vote Time: CITY OF LYNWOOD REGULAR MEETING OF THE PERSONNEL BOARD APRIL 17, 2008 The regular meeting of the of the Personnel Board of the City of Lynwood was held on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California. The agenda was duly posted as prescribed by the Brown Act. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 5:14 p.m. by Vice-Chairperson Villanueva. Roll call was taken by Yolanda Delgadillo, Personnel Analyst. Commissioner Attendance: Present- Battle, Villanueva, Lopez, Bradley Absent - Robinson Staff Attendance: Present -Diane Strickfaden, Yolanda Delgadillo Absent -Alfredo Lopez PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Led by Commissioner Lopez. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The motion was made by Commissioner Battle and seconded by Commissioner Bradley to approve the minutes of March 20, 2008 with two noted corrections. A correction was noted by Commissioner Bradley. Under Adjournment page 6 - it should read Commissioner Villanueva made the motion to adjourn and Commissioner Battle seconded. The other correction was noted by Commissioner Battle. Under Commissioner Orals, page 5, second paragraph -the minutes should reflect the word resolved instead of solved. All in favor. Motion carried. REORGANIZATION The Board briefly discussed whether to continue or postponed the reorganization to the next regular meeting since Chairperson Robinson was absent. The motion was made by Commissioner Battle and seconded by Commissioner Bradley to proceed with the nomination. All in favor. Motion carried. -2- Vice-Chairperson Villanueva opened the nominations for Chairperson Commissioner Battle nominated Commissioner Bradley for Chairperson. Commissioner Lopez seconded. All in favor. Motion carried. The new Chairperson is Bradley. Vice-Chairperson Villanueva opened the nominations for Vice-Chairperson. Commissioner Bradley nominated Commissioner Battle for Vice-Chairperson. Vice-Chariperson Villanueva seconded. All in favor. Motion carried. The new Vice-Chairperson is Battle. PUBLIC ORALS -None STUDIES AND REPORTS The motion was made by Commissioner Battle and seconded by Commissioner Bradley to approve the eligibility list for the position of Redevelopment Associate. Commissioner Bradley requested a copy of the job flyer be attached to future eligibility lists. Commissioner Villanueva would also like to see a copy of the rating sheet be attached to future eligibility lists. She would like to get an idea of what kind of questions are being asked during the interview process. Commissioner Battle requested that future eligibility list be in the word format that the Board agreed upon some time ago. Mrs. Strickfaden informed the Board of a correction that needed to be done on the eligibility list. The oral percentage should be 100 % instead of 70%. All in favor. Motion carried. The eligibility list was certified. COMMISSIONER & STAFF ORALS Mrs. Strickfaden addressed the Board and stated that in light with the "Road Show" the Human Resources Department will begin preparations to revise the Personnel Rules and Regulations. A plan regarding how to address these revisions will be presented to the Board within sixty (60) days. Mrs. Strickfaden informed the Board about the Commission/Board training which will take place on Monday, May 19`h. The training will consist of two parts. The first part will be about the Brown Act, and Roberts Rules while the second part will be about the mandatory Ethics training. -3- Mrs. Strickfaden also informed the Board that the Human Resources Department is working on legal counsel dates availability for the personnel matter hearing. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Bradley made the motion to adjourn and Commissioner Battle seconded. All in favor. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 5:53 p.m. -4-
