1. Introductions:
Chairman Rycyk called the meeting to order at 10:30 a.m., and a quorum was present. Mr. Rycyk introduced Diane
Gillespie with the Convention and Visitors Bureau
2. Adoption of the agenda:
A motion was made by Mr. Shorthose to approve the agenda and seconded by Mr. Thurnau. All were in favor and
agenda was approved.
3. Approval of the minutes:
A motion was made by Mr. Shorthose to approve the minutes and was seconded by Mr. Thurnau. All were in favor
and the minutes were approved.
4. Public Comment Opportunity:
None
5. Invited Guest:
Ms. Gillespie spoke to the committee about the solar eclipse and the amount of tourist it is expected to bring in.
6. Scheduled Reports:
a) Airport Manager’s Report
Mr. Craft handed out the flight count for the airport. He stated that there would be a runway safety meeting on
March 10, 2017 and state aviation day would be April 25, 2017.

b) FBO Report – JC Flying Service
Mr. Shorthose stated that the flight school is going okay. They received FAA approval but the Department of
Higher Education needs to give approval for the use of GI money.
c) Staff Liaison Report
Mr. Smith stated that there was a request out for a planner for the airport.
d) City Council Report
Councilman Mihalevich shared some information from the Columbia MO airport.
