Public Comment Opportunity: None 5. Invited Guest: None 6. Scheduled Reports: a) Airport Manager’s Report Two things to report, one which is on minds is the river levels. This is the 9th highest level in history in Jefferson City and FIRST time this levee has held back this much water. We are doing well, June 3, 2013 much credit is handed to Dave Boessen, Jay Fisher, and Shawn Smart. These three guys have worked non -stop, they are the leaders. They have family members etc. helping as well. Also, want to thank Lou Alber and city street staff for assisting here at the airport to help hold the levees. Airport, Tower, JC Flying Service and Restaurant are all open and on-schedule. Still moving items back here at the airport, trying to have much normal as possible. Tenants were asked to do what they felt comfortable with river level conditions. At this time, good, but next 24 hours will be the test. River levee is built to hold back only 30 feet so it’s testing. EAA Chapter Fly-in (5th Annual Open house) is scheduled for Saturday, September 28th (8am-4pm). Craft was asked, to research why Jefferson City Memorial Airport is not listed in the JC Area Membership Directory. After speaking with the chamber, we are not members. Mr. Rycyk made a motion for the committee to support having a membership when funds are available for the airport manager and Jefferson City Memorial Airport for recognition purposes, seconded by Mr. Hartley. Motion carried. This will be added to the list of priorities per Rycyk. b) FBO Report – JC Flying Service No report given. c) Staff Liaison Report Flooding a factor at the airport. Approximately four inches of rain has fallen since Friday and now it’s a battle with the water level. This evening the river is projected to crest at 30.8 and to my knowledge, the levee has never held back this much water; but due to the extraordinary efforts of Capitol View Drainage District Boardmembers/Landowners working around the clock since last Friday things seem to be good. In previous years, city administration handed “city leases” to another division to handle. Recently, this job duty has returned for (Smith) to manage. Along with Airport Manager Craft, we have reviewed leases, identified a few issues in which need to be address and revamped. We will be working together and toward to create standardized forms (rates/terms etc.) for leases here at the airport. FAA will no longer approve greater than 30 year leases, per Craft. Please note, we will be negotiating with the tenants but yet consulting with city legal department for assistance to complete and finalize, Britt added. City staff has approved summer help for two-months here at the airport. We have hired, Ryan Vernon to fill this position. Update on control tower, we will continue to fight to keep in operation. September 30th, the federal fiscal year ends. Columbia Regional Airport: Minutes provided in agenda packet. 7. Old Business 8. New Business 9. Other Business Mr. Naught was asked to report on the small group of flying enthusiast which decided to apply for a grant to create a flying club (including Naught / Gentry). We received an email two weeks ago stating we were finalized. We are awaiting news. Mr. Lueckenotte shared with committee on airline “Mo-Skys”. June 3, 2013 Chip Gentry presented to the evening rotary club and felt very much received. 10. Next Meeting Date Tuesday, September 3, 2013 11. Adjourn Mr. Rycyk moves to adjourn meeting at 11:35 a.m., seconded by Mr. Naught. Meeting adjourns. Respectfully Submitted, Glen Vernon.
