A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE PURCHASE OF ART AND DECORATIVE ART THROUGH THE INFORMAL BID
PROCESS FOR THE CITY'S ART IN PUBLIC PLACES PROGRAM
WHEREAS, many cities have adopted an Art in Public Places Program with the
intent of placing permanent art objects, such as sculptures, murals and other decorative
~ art throughout their communities; and
~ WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood ("Council") has approved an
ordinance to allow a broader medium of art, aimed at enhancing the aesthetic look of
the City of Lynwood; and
WHEREAS, in lieu fees are collected and available to be used for the purpose of
purchasing art and decorative art for the City of Lynwood's Art in Public Places
Program; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. City staff is authorized to purchase art and decorative art
through the informal bid process.
SECTION 2. All purchases of art and decorative art shall be done in
accordance with City of Lynwood Ordinance number 1603.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 27th day of January, 2009.
