Leesburg Downtown Parking Garage Enhancements Have
Started
Leesburg, VA (July 26, 2016) – The Leesburg Town Council authorized the creation of a
Downtown Parking Task Force in early 2015. The recommendations presented by the Task
Force included improvements to the Town of Leesburg parking garage. Many of those
enhancements have been implemented include the installation of updated thermoplast
directional arrows, and mounting new reflective arrows to the existing overhead directional
signs to provide clearer traffic pattern information. The walls and ramps on the first and
second levels of the garage have been painted white to provide a brighter and cleaner
appearance. Numerous parking spaces have been re-striped to allow for larger vehicles and
greater accessibility.
The Commission of Public Art, with the support of the Leesburg Town Council, commissioned a
bicycle mural that was designed by local artist Kevin Dunn and painted in part by local high
school art students. The mural is located on the first level of the parking garage, on the right
wall, when arriving from the Market Street entrance. The mural beautifies the space and
promotes public art use of the adjacent bicycle rack
More improvements to the garage are still underway. For questions, please contact Keith
Markel, Deputy Town Manager at 703-771-2710.
