PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, The Pleasant Valley High School (PVHS) Ethics Bowl Team is sponsored by Dr. Lynne Lundberg, a faculty
member at Pleasant Valley High School; and,
WHEREAS, The PVHS Ethics Bowl Team engages in ethical debate by thinking, talking, and working together on some
of the most vexing and important moral issues that define our times; and,
WHEREAS, The PVHS Ethics Bowl Team members include:

Alika Cho
Avery Lehman
Nadia Meeks
Muskan Mehta
Ameya Menon
Swetha Narmeta
Ashwin Parab
Victoria Rice
Margil Sanchez Carmona
Grace Schmidt
Priya Suresh
Kalie Tessen

WHEREAS, In January, the PVHS Ethics Bowl Team participated in the state's Ethics Bowl competition and swept the
podium, capturing first, second, and third place, marking the Team's third state victory, and in February,
they won the regional championship; and,
WHEREAS, The National High School Ethics Board invited 24 of the best teams from around the United States to
NHSEB 2024: The National Championship, scheduled for April 12-14, 2024, on the UNC-Chapel Hill
Campus, and for the third time in the Team's history, the PVHS Ethics Bowl Team was invited to, and will,
participate in the national championship competition.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Anthony Heddlesten, Mayor of the City of Riverdale, Iowa, do hereby proclaim
March 26, 2024, as
PVHS Ethics Bowl Team Day
in Riverdale, and encourage staff, residents, and visitors to join me in congratulating the PVHS Ethics Bowl Team for their
accomplishments.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the City of Riverdale on
