Re: Voice Mail
It has come to my attention that your messages will only stay in the telephone system 5 days if you
have already played them and 7 days if you have not played your messages. The system will
store up to 15 messages at one time, with a maximum length of 1 minute per message. Please
relay this information to your staff so that they are aware the messages will disappear after the
allotted days.
The other item that has come to my attention has to do with access codes into the voice mail system.
All department heads may want to have a list of employees' access codes. The employees at City Hall
have found that it is necessary. Either people have left or someone may have forgotten their access
code. If the Phone Company resets the code, it costs $11. I can also keep a master list if that is
preferable to you. Just let me know. The only problem with keeping others codes is that they can
change them at any time.
By the way, I am still working on the long distance access codes. Some are in place, such as main
numbers, while others are not. I hope to have it resolved very soon.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
