Resolution Authorizing the City to Advertise for Bids for the Joint
Riverdale/Panorama Park Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project
WHEREAS, the City of Riverdale, Iowa (hereinafter referred to as "City"), has authorized MSA Professional
Services (hereinafter referred to as "MSA") to prepare contract documents for the purpose of seeking
bids from contractors to construct sanitary sewer rehabilitation measures; and,
WHEREAS, the City has knowingly and willing proceeded with the intent this project would be bid with
the additional recommended rehabilitation measures recommended for the City of Panorama Park, Iowa;
and,
WHEREAS, the City will publicly open the bids jointly with the City of Panorama Park; and,
WHEREAS, the submitted bids will be reviewed by MSA, the City's engineering firm; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has been made aware that the Engineer's opinion of the probable
construction cost could be approximately $115,500, and the City Council has subsequently authorized
MSA to proceed; and,
WHEREAS, after receiving and reviewing bids there will likely be a recommendation to award submitted
by MSA, followed by an additional City resolution to award the project to the lowest responsible bidder;
and,
WHEREAS, proceeding with the project also requires the approval of the City of Panorama Park; and,
WHEREAS, the project cannot proceed without a permit from the Iowa Department of Natural
Resources; and,
WHEREAS, the funding sources for this project are:
#001-298-6399 Storm sewer, contractual services
#610-815-6499 Sanitary sewer, contractual services
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF RIVERDALE, IOWA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City will advertise for bids in the City's authorized paper of record for the publication
of public notices.

SECTION 2. MSA is authorized to proceed with the bidding effort, including but not limited to a non -
mandatory pre -bid meeting, a bid opening, and a bid evaluation.
