Resolution Approving a Deduct Meter Permit Application
WHEREAS, the Sewer -Utilities Review Committee (hereinafter referred to as "Committee") has
recommended changes to the City of Riverdale's ordinance on sewer rates to include modifications to the
deduct meter billing system; and,
WHEREAS, Council is considering said recommended ordinance updates at this time, and it is anticipated
these recommendations will be codified in May 2024; and,
WHEREAS, the Committee has recommended the implementation of a deduct meter permit application,.
a draft copy of which is attached hereto and made part of this Resolution; and,
WHEREAS, the Committee does not recommend a fee for the deduct meter permit application as staff
wages to administer this program are anticipated to be minimal; and,
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the Committee will approve the attached draft deduct meter permit
application at its May 9, 2024, meeting with minor changes, if any.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF RIVERDALE, IOWA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the deduct meter permit application is approved for its general format, allowing for
minor corrections as needed.
SECTION 2. That there is no fee associated with the deduct meter permit application at this time.
SECTION 3. Once the deduct meter permit application and ordinance revisions are finalized, staff
members are authorized to implement the deduct meter program.
