RESOLUTION NO. 89 -2886
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TEMPLE CITY ADOPTING GENERAL PLAN AMEND-
MENT 89 -1.
WHEREAS, the City of Temple City has amended its General
Plan in compliance with applicable portions of the California
Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the land use element of the adopted General Plan
designated certain properties as "Institutional "; and
WHEREAS, Institutionally designated properties may be
zoned to any appropriate zoning classification which allows in-
stitutional uses with or without a conditional use permit; and
WHEREAS, residential uses should be permitted only on
property designated as being residential on the City's General
Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council approved a seven (7) unit resi-
dential project on June 6, 1989, for the subject property, a
redesignation from "Institutional" to "Medium Density
Residential" is appropriate; and
WHEREAS, a noticed public hearing was conducted relative
to this General Plan Amendment by the Planning Commission on June
13, 1989; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has adopted a Resolution
recommending General Plan Amendment 89 -1; and
WHEREAS, the City Council conducted a duly noticed public
hearing on July 18, 1989, in accordance with State Law; and
WHEREAS, all testimony and comments received during the
public hearings held by the City have been given due considera-
tion;
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City cf Temple City
finds that:
1. The Negative Declaration posted and noticed in accor-
dance with State Law has been completed in substantial
compliance with CEQA and it was found that the project
would not have a substantial adverse affect on the en-
vironment and is hereby approved.
2. This General Plan Amendment is based on the findings
enumerated in Planning Commission Resolution
88- 1497PC.

3. General Plan Amendment 89 -1 is hereby adopted and the
attached map shown as Exhibit "A" shall be incorpor-
ated into the land use element of the General Plan.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of July 1989.
I, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution, Resolution
No. 89 -2886 was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of
Temple City at a regular meeting held on the 18th day of July,
1989 by the folllowing vote:
AYES: Councilmember- Atkins,Breazeal ,Gillanders,Swain,Froehle
NOES: Councilmember -None
