ORDINANCE NO. Z224
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MCCALL, VALLEY COUNTY, IDAHO,
AMENDING THE MCCALL CITY CODE § 2-1-070 TO ADOPT THE 1997 EDITION OF
THE UNIFORM FIRE CODE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City has adopted the 1994 Edition of the Uniform Fire Code; and
WHEREAS, the Western Fire Chiefs Association and the International Conference of
Building Officials has published the 1997 Edition of the Uniform Fire Code, the adoption of
which the City finds important to the health and safety and welfare of the citizen of McCall;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MCCALL, VALLEY COUNTY, IDAHO, as follows:
Section 1: Section 2-1-070 of the McCall City Code, is hereby amended to read as
follows:

2-1-070: ADOPTION OF CODES: The following codes, as amended by
Section 2-1-080 of this Chapter, shall apply to all areas within the planning
jurisdiction of the City of McCall, Idaho.
(A) The Uniform Building Code, 1994 Edition, and the following appendices
thereto:
Appendix Chapter 31, Patio Covers
Appendix Chapter 33, Excavation and Grading
(B) The Uniform Code for Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1991
Edition, published by the International Conference of Building Officials.
(C) The Uniform Mechanical Code, 1994 Edition, published by the
International Conference of Building Officials and the International
Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials.
(D) The Uniform Fire Code, 4-994 1997 Edition, and appendices II A, II C,
II F, II J, III A, III B, III C, V A, VI A, and VI D, VI E, published by
the Western Fire Chiefs Association and the International Conference of
Building Officials.
(E) The Life Safety Code, National Fire Protection Association Code
number 101-1994, published by the National Fire Protection
Association.
(F) National Fire Protection Code sections as follows:
! ) NFPA 501-A-1992: Manufactured Home Installations
NFPA 501-C-1993: Recreational Vehicle Fire Safety Guidelines
NFPA 501-D-1993: Recreational Vehicle Parks and
Campgrounds
NFPA 54-1992: Natural Fuel Gas Code
NFPA 58-1995: Storage and Handling of Liquefied Petroleum
Gases
NFPA 59-1995: Storage and Handling of Liquefied Petroleum
Gases at Utility Gas Plants
(G) National Electrical Code, 1990 Edition, and the appendices thereto as
amended, recommended by the American Insurance Association for
electrical wiring and apparatus.
(H) The Uniform Code for Building Conservation, 1994 Edition, chapters 1,
2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, without appendices, published by the International
Conference of Building Officials, as more fully provided in Chapter 4 of
this Title respecting historic buildings. (Ord. 712, 6-26-1997)1
Section 2: Attached as Exhibit "A" to this Ordinance is a summary of the
Ordinance for publication as provided in Section 50-901A, Idaho Code, along with a
certification of city attorney.
Section 3: This ordinance shall be published once in the official newspaper of the City,
and shall take effect upon its passage, approval, and publication.

This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect within the Area of City Impact from and after the
later of its passage, approval and publication as required by law by the City, or the passage, approval
and publication as required by law of an ordinance of the County applying this Ordinance to the Area
of City Impact.

A summary of the principal provisions of Ordinance No. 724. of the City of McCall,
Valley County, Idaho, adopted on July 23, 1998, is as follows:
Section 1: Adopts the 1997 Edition of the Uniform Fire Code.
Section 2: Attaches proposed summary of ordinance.
Section 3: Provides for publication of a summary of the Ordinance and its effective
date.
The full text of Ordinance No. 724, is available from the City Clerk, City Ha11, 216
Park Street, McCall, Idaho, and will be provided to any person upon request during regular
office hours.
