Nominations for 2016 Loudoun History Awards Now Open
Thomas Balch Library Advisory Commission will accept nominations through
October 10, 2016.
Leesburg, VA (September 6, 2016) – Thomas Balch Library Advisory Commission seeks
nominations for the 24th annual Loudoun History Awards. These awards honor individuals who
have made significant contributions to preserving Loudoun’s past through collection of county
documents and memorabilia, preservation of historic landmarks, visual arts, writing and long-
term involvement in local history organizations. Last year, Donna Bohanon and Al Van Huyck
were the 2015 Loudoun History Award recipients.
The Loudoun History Awards will be presented on Sunday, November 13, 2016, at 2:00pm, at
the Thomas Balch Library.
Letters of nomination should include a statement elaborating the nominees’ accomplishments.
Newspaper articles, program announcements, publications, or other supporting information
that provides evidence of the nominee’s accomplishments may be included. Contact
information for the nominee and nominator must accompany the nomination and may be
emailed to agressitt@leesburgva.gov or mailed to:
