Pay Parking Meters in Downtown Leesburg With Your
Smartphone
Leesburg, VA (September 6, 2016 | Revised
September 7, 2016) – Visitors to downtown
Leesburg can now use credit cards to put time on
parking meters via their smartphones using the
Parkmobile app.
Green stickers were placed on all of the meters last
week, indicating that the meters accept Parkmobile
payments and providing directions on how to make
payments.
Customers will be charged a service fee by Parkmobile for each transaction, in addition to the
$1.50 per hour parking fee.
“One of the added benefits is that you can add time to the meter, up to the two hour limit,
from wherever you are in downtown,” said Keith Markel, Leesburg’s Deputy Town Mana ger.
“Let’s say you’ve put 15 minutes on the meter, thinking you’re going to run into a shop quickly,
but then your errand takes longer than expected. You can add up to an additional one hour and
45 minutes of time to the meter using your smartphone.”
Parking meters in downtown Leesburg will continue to accept coins, if visitors do not wish to
use the Parkmobile app. On-street parking remains free after 5:00pm on weekdays and all day
on weekends and holidays.
The implementation of the Parkmobile app is the latest in a series of improvements to
Leesburg’s downtown parking, many of which were recommended by last year’s Downtown
Parking Task Force.
