ON FEBRUARY 20, 2008 IN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD COUNCIL CHAMBERS. COMMUNITY AFFAIRS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES FOR NOVEMBER 21, 2007 OPENING CEREMONIES A. CALL TO ORDER -The meeting was unofficial due to lack of a quorum. B. PLEDGE OFALLEGIANCE -The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Commissioner Margie Harper. C. ROLL CALL Chairperson Gloria Garcia -Present Vice Chairperson D. Joyce Edner -Absent Commissioner Margie Harper -Present D. CERTIFICATION OF AGENDA POSTING -The agenda was duly posted for the November 21, 2007 meeting as prescribed by the Brown Act. E. APPROVAL OF PAST MINUTES -The minutes were not approved due to lack of a quorum. II. INFORMATION ITEMS A. City Council Items: Ms. Rozie Carrillo, Recreation Superintendent II announced that we have a new City Council. B. General City Program Report: Ms. Carrillo reported the following: • Commission & Boards Christmas Dinner - 12/13/07 - 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Bateman Hall • Candy Cane Lane Christmas Parade - 12/14/07 - 7 p.m. Pre-parade reception at 5:30 p.m. at Bateman Hall. The Community Affairs Commission will ride in a trolley. • Community Services Day - 12/20/07 - 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Natatorium. C. Senior Citizens Program Report: None D. Library Report: None E. Human Relations Mutual Assistance Consortium (H.R.M.A.C.) Report: None III. SCHEDULED MATTERS A IV. PUBLIC ORALS -Please adhere to the three-minute time limit. None V. COMMISSION ORALS -Please adhere to the three-minute time limit. • Chairperson Garcia -Chairperson Garcia thanks Ms. Carrillo and the Minutes Clerk. It's been a good year, she loves working with the Commission. She wishes everyone a blessed December. • Vice Chairperson Edner -Absent • Commissioner Harper -Commissioner Harper stated that she enjoyed working with everyone for the entire year. Let's respect one another, work together and strive for cohesiveness and excellence in the new year ahead. She appreciates the Minutes Clerk and the Recreation Liaison. She is feeling much better and stronger now. She wishes everyone a happy Thanksgiving holiday. VI. ADJOURNMENT- The meeting was adjourned for the holidays. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held at 5:00 p.m. on January 16, 2008 in the City Hall Council Chambers, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, CA 90262.
