MEDINA CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES OF OCTOBER 26, 2004
The City Council of Medina, Minnesota met in special session on October 26, 2004 at 9:07 p.m.
at Medina City Hall. Mayor Phil Zietlow presided.
Members present: Workman, Lane, Zietlow, Smith, Brinkman
Members absent: None
Also present: City Administrator Chad Adams, Public Works Director Jim Dillman, City
Attorney Ron Batty, and Planning Consultant Sarah Schield
Bridgewater at Lake Medina Comprehensive Plan Amendment — Response to Met Council
Staff Report
Adams reviewed the Met Council letter and provided background on the amendment and
timeline. The Met Council will be considering the amendment on October 27th.
Discussion was held on clarification desired regarding the Met Council memo.
Council consensus that clarification was needed on the reporting language and MUSA language.
The Council also requested that the Highway 55 Corridor desires for safety and density demands
be considered for future funding of Highway 55.
Adams stated that he would provide an update of the Met Council decision at the November 3rd
meeting and would be requesting City Council action upon Met Council approval.
Appointment of City Planner position
This item was tabled to the November 3, 2004 meeting.
Hamel Community Building — Operational Agreement
This item was tabled to the November 3, 2004 meeting.
Water & Sewer Extension — City of Corcoran letter
This item was tabled until the City of Corcoran makes a presentation to the City of Medina
requesting an extension.
Adjournment
Smith moved, Workman seconded to ourn Unanimous approval. The Special Council
