AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF McCALL, VALLEY COUNTY, IDAHO
AMENDING 3.2.02, DEFINITION OF BUILDING HEIGHT, OF CHAPTER 2,
MEANINGS OF TERMS OR WORDS, OF TITLE III, ZONING, OF THE McCALL CITY
CODE, TO CHANGE THE DEFINITION OF BUILDING HEIGHT AND RELATED
GRAPHIC.
WHEREAS, an application for approval of a code amendment, pursuant to MCC 1.1.3, was
submitted by Wayne Rummele from EPIKOS on June 18, 2007.
WHEREAS, the code amendment would change the way the building height is calculated within
the City and Impact Area of McCall.
WHEREAS, the McCall Planning and Zoning Commission, held a properly noticed and
regularly scheduled public hearing on June 10, 2007 and August 7, 2007, to consider this
proposed text amendment and
WHEREAS, after considering all testimony the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended
the McCall City Council approve this action.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McCALL, IDAHO:
Section 2: That Section 3.2.02, Meanings of Terms or Words, of Chapter 2,
Definitions, of Title III, Zoning, of the McCall City Code, is hereby AMENDED as follows,
to -wit:
3.2.02: MEANINGS OF TERMS OR WORDS
Height, Building The vertical distance measured from the elevation of the existing
grade prior to construction at the lowest point of the building, to the highest point of
the roof. Building height of the building element or structure clement shall be
determined as follows: in all instances the height shall be measured from the existing
grade prior to construction; and, if that existing grade and the top of the clement are
not parallel, height is determined as an average of three distances, one computed at
clement, the midpoint of the clement shall be substituted for that end of the element),
and the third being the greatest vertical distance of the element.
Height, Building —Building height shall be measured vertically from any point on a
proposed or existing building element to the existing grade prior to construction
directly below said point on a proposed or existing building element. (The highest to
lowest measurement at any given vertical structure line.)

I, the undersigned, the duly appointed, qualified, Acting City Clerk of the City of
McCall, Idaho, do hereby certify the following:
1. That pursuant to the provisions of Section 50-207, Idaho Code, I keep
a correct journal of the proceedings of the Council of the City of
McCall, Idaho, and that I am statutory custodian of all laws, ordinances
and resolutions of said City.
2. That the attached Ordinance No. 846 is a true and correct copy of an
ordinance passed at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
McCall held on October 25, 2007 and duly recorded in my office; and
3. That said regular meeting was duly convened and held in all respects
in accordance with law and to the extent required by law, due and
proper notice of such meeting and that a legally sufficient number of
members of the Council voted in the proper manner and for the
passage of said ordinance; and that all other requirements and
proceedings incident to the proper adoption and passage of said
ordinance have been duly fulfilled, carried out and observed; and that I
am authorized to execute this certificate.
