CITY COUNCIL “PRE-MEETING” WORK SESSION, APRIL 5, 2021
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Carrie Tergin called the April 5, 2021 City Council “Pre-Meeting” to order at 5:46
P.M. to review the agenda.
ATTENDANCE
The following Councilmembers were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Fitzwater, Graham, Hensley, Hussey, Kemna, Lester, Schreiber,
Vogt, and Ward
Absent: Wiseman
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Councilmember Ward will lead the prayer.
Miscellaneous
- Kristi Campbell, Director of Cole County Health Department will join via
Webex with a few pandemic announcements.
- Mayor Tergin will present the “April is Fair Housing Month” proclamation to
Denise McCorkle, President of the Jefferson City Area Board of Realtors.
- Ms. McCorkle and Mayor Tergin will present certificates to the “Fair Housing
Poster Contest” winners.
Presentations from Staff, Consultants & Invited Guests
- Mayor Tergin will recognize Republic Services Driver, James Ousley for his
Lifesaving Efforts.
- Representatives from the FOP and Fire Fighters Local Union 671 will each
make a presentation in support of pending bill 2020-062 related to a public
safety sales tax.
- Roger Schwartze, Chair of the Transportation and Traffic Commission will
present the commission’s sidewalk improvements suggestions.

Councilmember Wiseman arrived at the meeting at 5:54 P.M.
Informal Calendar
- Bill 2020-062 related to a public safety sales tax will be taken up for
discussion and a possible vote.
Resolutions
- City Staff presented their resolutions.
New Business
- A vendor has reached out to the City to discuss a possible scooter ride share
program. City Attorney Ryan Moehlman will provide an update to City
Council.
Closed Session
- A closed session is scheduled for this evening.
