The Council of the City of Medina met in special session on Tuesday, October 29, 1991
at 7:30 P.M. to discuss the 1992 budget.
Present: Mayor, Gary Acromite; Councilmembers, Robert Mitchell, Ann Thies, Philip Zietlow,
Wilfred Scherer; Clerk -Treasurer, Donna Roehl; Public Works Director, James
Dillman; Police Chief, Richard Rabenort
1. HCLY NAME DR. TRUCK TRAFFIC
Rick Rabenort stated that a number of trucks had received warnings regarding using Holy Name
Dr. to reach the Medina Rd. project in Plymouth, but that the police could not tag them
until the council had taken action.
Jim Dillman stated that the contractor had told him that they would repair Brockton Lane
when the project was completed.
Moved by Scherer, seconded by Mitchell to post Holy Name Dr. to truck traffic and to ask
the police to use discretion in tagging trucks of local businesses.
Motion declared carried
2. 1992 BUDGET
Council and staff reviewed Revenue and Expense budgets for 1992.
Items that need follow-up information are:
Building permit information for 1991 and estimates for 1992
Recycling expenses and income for Medina's program and West Hennepin Recycling
Amount of engineer and attorney bills, recovered from applicants
Secure list of liquor license fees charged locally and statewide
Document income and expenses of sewer and water funds and decide what account name
to use for excess revenues
Ask Pat Wulff to prepare a letter for council approval to Hennepin County Parks regarding
Milfoil control funding
Prepare charts for the public hearing indicating comparisons between department
expenditures and various revenues
Determine if the purchase of a police car in 1992 is a necessity
Secure information regarding capital projects for November 5th meeting
Prepare list of roads and cost to improve and list of roads and cost to seal coat
Wilfred Scherer left meeting at 9:00 P.M.
Robert Mitchell suggested that 1992 salaries be left at the 1991 level and that a
3% increase be put into a salary adjustment fund.
Moved by Thies, seconded by Mitchell to adjourn.
Motion declared carried
Meeting adjourned at 11:05 P.M.
